Chewing gum and mints. Breath sprays and mouth wash. Are these good bad breath remedies?
They will temporarily cover up bad breath so that someone can stand next to you and your mouth also tastes better to you.
However, persistent bad breath needs to be addressed at the source. Most of the time, bad breath originates in the mouth with foul bacteria. Bacteria grow and give off waste products that cause the foul odor.
Make sure you floss your teeth every day and brush each tooth thoroughly. After flossing, rinse with mouthwash to help flush away any remaining food particles. Then, brush your tongue too. Even better, get a tongue scraper. You will be amazed at the film you can scrape off your tongue every day.
Make sure you check for any loose fillings or ill-fitting dental appliances. These can also trap food particles and cause problems with your breath.
Be sure to visit your dental hygienist regularly to get your teeth cleaned.
If you still suffer from bad breath, you may need a more permanent bad-breath-remedy.
